Pack your bags and gather your friends and family for a fun and exciting fall vacation full of fun and sun, as well as some fall activities in Orlando to escape the heat, or a possible rainy day. Set your sights on the Orlando area and its many exciting entertainment offerings, and you’ll build a fall vacation to keep you happy and busy throughout your stay and memories to last a lifetime.
Fall is an exciting time for the theme parks that call Orlando home, with several ongoing festivals throughout the fall months. Make it a point to visit at least one during your Orlando vacation! From late August to mid-November, Epcot hosts the International Food & Wine Festival, where you can embark on a culinary adventure and try dishes inspired by countries and cultures around the world. Feeling spooky? Orlando’s Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights features haunted houses and scare zones, while SeaWorld’s Halloween Spectacular has trick-or-treating, a Scarecrow dance party, haunted houses, and more. Each park has some variation of a fall celebration that kids and adults will not want to miss.
Originating in Germany in 1810, the fun and frivolity of Oktoberfest has spread across the globe. Beer, food, and a folk festival atmosphere bring people together to celebrate fall. While the heart of the celebration remains, each Orlando locale puts its own spin on the festivities. Oktoberfest isn’t all about beer, so most events will be kid-friendly.
Kissimmee Oktoberfest at Krush Brau Park – Head to Krush Brau Park for an authentic Oktoberfest experience! Celebrating Oktoberfest every weekend from late September to early November, festivalgoers can expect live music, delicious German food, beer, games, shopping experiences, and more!
Oktoberfest at Avalon Park – Ring in fall with Avalon Park’s Oktoberfest. The main event will take place on October 11th, 2025, with a beer garden preview on October 10th, 2025. There will be live music, food vendors, alpine dancing, a beer garden, and a great time! The event will take place from 5-10 pm in Downtown Avalon Park.
Oktoberfest – The German American Society of Central Florida will host its annual Oktoberfest event on Saturday, October 4th and October 25th from noon to 9:00 pm. There will be nonstop entertainment, a kids’ corner with a bounce house and games, live music, and of course, German beer and food. Tickets are $7 in advance and can be purchased online.
When the chill of fall blows through, you’ll want an indoor escape. While there are many shops, boutiques, movie theaters, and other indoor venues that offer fun and excitement, take some time to be amazed by the weird. When you visit the museum full of oddities, it will amaze you and have you saying, “I don’t believe it!” Get up close with some of Robert Ripley’s oddest oddities, like a shrunken human head, strange fossilized creatures, and other parts of the crazy collection. Make sure not to miss the exhibit focused on Mr. Ripley himself and the over 3,000 letters a day for over 20 years he received! That’s more than any other individual in history up to that point.
Oktoberfest isn’t the only festival that celebrates fall. Several places around the Orlando area celebrate the harvest season, hold arts and crafts fairs, corn mazes, pumpkin patches, U-pick fresh produce stands, and more, which can keep everyone occupied for hours and ready for a nap when you return to your accommodations.
Getting outside and enjoying the outdoors is a great way to spend some time with those you love outside of the four walls of your accommodations. Our Orlando vacation rentals have quick access to outdoor spaces like pools, hot tubs, playgrounds, and more. Grab some water and your sun gear and hit the trails for a hike, or rent a bike and explore the area around you. These activities are even more fun in the fall, when scorching summer temperatures have begun to cool down.
