Where there’s always something new to be discovered at Disney World, it’s hard to deny that the addition of Star Wars in Flordia: Rise of the Resistance to the lineup of attractions hasn’t topped the list of recent thrills!
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is part of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge located within Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests who have the opportunity to enjoy the ride will be part of an epic battle, taking on the First Order from their secure seat. Built for kids, teens, and adults alike, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance first opened to the public in December 2019 and has continued to rise in popularity among the Disney-centric masses! The experience functions on a multi-ride system complete with twists and turns, incredible light illusions, and structures that bring the movies to life before your eyes.
As Disney enthusiasts have long known, when it comes to new rides within the parks, access is absolutely everything! In order to keep up with popular demand regarding Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the associated virtual queue system has become more imperative than ever and recent changes are bound to make this experience more readily available to excited Disney guests.
As of November 3, 2020, the virtual queue system for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance was officially integrated into a new piloting approach aimed at helping guests plan ahead and access this incredible ride with peace of mind and more ease. Beginning at 7:00 am on the day visitors would like to enjoy the ride, guests who hold a valid ticket or pass with a Disney Park Pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios can access the virtual queue system to check for available boarding groups. This makes it simple for guests to check for open slots while they’re nearby or even before leaving their Orlando accommodations.
For those that aren’t able to secure a place in the morning boarding group queue, the second round of openings becomes available daily at 2:00 pm. It’s important to note that those looking to be a part of this ride roundup must be inside Disney’s Hollywood Studios to access an afternoon boarding pass. Those who receive a later boarding time from the get-go, there’s more flexibility in scheduling. Once your boarding time is in place, you can simply relax, enjoy time at your Orlando accommodations and make your way to the park closer to your scheduled arrival for the ride experience.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is an undeniably popular ride, and these days, it seems everyone is looking for their place on the journey. In order to allow for more people to enjoy the attraction while keeping safety standards top of mind, clear barriers have been set up between rows on the attraction vehicles.
Getting into the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is designed to be seamless, but there are a few things in mind to make sure it all goes off without a hitch. Above all, guests looking forward to the ride experience should make sure they have an account in My Disney Experience set up by at least the day prior to their visit. Downloading the My Disney Experience mobile app is the quickest way to ensure you’re always up to date on the latest information before arriving at the park. Make sure every guest has a valid Disney Park pass reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios in hand the day of the visit and link each ticket to the My Disney Experience account.
It’s important to note that the virtual queue is only accessible through the My Disney Experience app and those looking to enroll during the 7 am roundup should be using the app on a smartphone rather than a browser. Only one guest per party should enroll in the virtual queue and those that need help joining the afternoon 2:00 pm roundup can always seek out assistance from a Guest Relations or Guest Experience cast member at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
