Thanksgiving is a particularly fun time to visit Orlando, as it offers a unique and enjoyable experience for visitors during the holiday season. The city’s theme parks, including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, and SeaWorld, often decorate with festive holiday decorations and offer special Thanksgiving-themed events. Many Orlando restaurants and resorts also serve traditional Thanksgiving feasts, making it easy for visitors to enjoy a delicious meal without the hassle of cooking.

Orlando’s pleasant November weather allows for outdoor activities, such as golfing, exploring nature reserves, and touring the theme parks. Because Orlando is a popular destination during the Thanksgiving holiday, it’s essential to plan in advance, as the parks, restaurants, and accommodations can get crowded and book up in advance. However, with its warm weather, festive atmosphere, and numerous entertainment options, Orlando provides an enjoyable and memorable Thanksgiving experience for families and tourists alike.

Pack your bags and gather your friends and family for a fun and exciting Thanksgiving vacation full of fun, sun, Thanksgiving treats!

The Parks

The theme parks that call Orlando home seem to put on a show for every holiday and season. Main Street, USA in the Magic Kingdom goes all-out for Christmas starting in early November, and each of the Disney parks puts their own spin on the holidays, including traditions from around the world. Disney parks are known for their breathtaking holiday decorations. If you visit for Thanksgiving, you’ll find the parks adorned with millions of sparkling lights, festive garlands, themed Christmas trees, and larger-than-life ornaments. Disney also hosts special holiday parades featuring beloved Disney characters dressed in holiday attire. These parades are a highlight of the holiday season, with themed floats, music, and dancing.

Madame Tussauds Orlando

Located on International Drive along with many other must-see attractions, Madame Tussauds Wax Museum features life size and life-like wax models of many top actors, sports stars, pop icons, political and historical figures, and more. Each category or group of stars and celebrities has its own room, and the figures are organized and placed in a way that begs for fun and silly photos with you and your friends posed in the shot, too. Want to see yourself carved in wax? It will take up to four months for the professional team of artists and sculptors to perfect your image using over 200 different body measurements that capture everything that’s unique about you.

Drinksgiving

This adults-only event takes place the night before Thanksgiving each year and is full of music, food, and of course, drinks! Orlando House Party throws a Thanksgiving event like no other in town. Located at Boxi Park Lake Nona, party goers can dance to hip-hop, R&B, and “tropical” tunes provided by local artists. The event is outdoors, and the environment is “rocky” – so it’s best to leave the high heels at home. This is a great chance to meet new people, eat, drink, and have a fun time the night before Thanksgiving! Advance tickets are recommended, and of course, patrons must be 21+ for this event.

Outdoor Fun

The weather is likely part of the reason you chose Orlando for your Thanksgiving getaway. Getting outside and enjoying the outdoors is a great way to spend some time with those you love outside of the four walls of your accommodations. Resorts, hotels, and vacation rentals alike all have quick access to outdoor spaces like pools, hot tubs, playgrounds, and more. Grab some water and your sun gear and hit the trails for a hike or rent a bike and explore the area or ride the trails. The best part: you’ll have more time to spend outdoors since the scorching sun will be taking a little fall break itself.
